How do I change the card on file?

Run /membership in the server and press Manage billing: Stripe's portal opens with your payment methods, and you can add or replace the card there. If a renewal fails, you keep your role while Stripe retries.

Changing the card

  1. Run /membership in the server. Only you see the reply. It shows the tier you hold and when the current period ends.
  2. Press Manage billing. That opens Stripe's billing page for your subscription, signed in as you.
  3. Add or replace the payment method. The new card is used for the next renewal. Your plan, your price and your role are untouched.

If you bought from a link rather than inside Discord, the server’s invite page has the same manage link and opens the same page.

If a payment has already failed

Stripe retries a failed card over the following days, and you keep your role while that is happening — an expired card is the usual reason a renewal fails.

Update the card the same way and the retry goes through. If the retries run out before you do, the subscription ends and the role comes off with it; subscribing again from the server’s invite page is then the way back.

/membership shows your subscription as it stands right now, and re-applies your role if that is what went wrong — I paid but didn’t get my role is the page for that.
