Terms of Service

What flatpass is

flatpass is software that lets Discord community owners (“Sellers”) sell access to paid roles as subscriptions, and lets Discord users (“Members”) purchase them. flatpass provides the tooling only. It is not a party to the sale between a Seller and a Member, is not the merchant of record, and does not take possession of sale proceeds.

Accounts

You sign in with Discord. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your Discord and Stripe credentials secure. You must be able to form a binding contract and must comply with Discord’s and Stripe’s terms in addition to these Terms.

Seller terms

Sellers connect their own Stripe account and are the merchant of record for every sale to their Members. As a Seller you are solely responsible for your offers and their description, for delivering the access you sell, for applicable taxes, and for handling your Members’ refunds, chargebacks, and support. You must have the right to grant the Discord roles you sell and must follow Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Using flatpass is free while your community has up to 15 active paid members. Beyond that, an active platform subscription for the applicable tier is required. If you exceed your tier’s limit, or your platform subscription lapses, your invite page stops accepting new purchases until you upgrade or restore it. Your existing Members’ subscriptions and roles are not affected.

Platform subscription: billing, renewal, and cancellation

The platform subscription is free for communities with up to 15 active paid members, then US$29, US$79 or US$149 per month for up to 80, 200 and 750 active paid members respectively, and US$399 per month above that with no member limit. Where supported, Stripe may display and bill the equivalent amount in your local currency at checkout. A paid subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.

You can cancel anytime from your dashboard (“Manage billing”), which opens the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — your invite page keeps accepting purchases until then, and you will not be charged again. After that your account returns to the free tier and its 15-member limit.

Platform subscription fees are non-refundable, and we do not give prorated refunds for partial billing periods.

If the price or billing terms change, we will notify you by email in advance, and changes take effect from a subsequent billing period.

Member terms

When you purchase a subscription, your contract for that purchase is with the Seller, not with flatpass. Access is delivered as a Discord role and depends on you being a member of the Seller’s server under the same Discord account you paid with. Member subscriptions renew automatically at the price and interval shown at checkout until cancelled (see Member subscriptions: billing, renewal, and cancellation). Refunds and any other cancellation terms are governed by the Seller’s policies and by Stripe.

Member subscriptions: billing, renewal, and cancellation

Memberships are recurring subscriptions billed by the Seller through Stripe. Unless cancelled, a subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly or yearly, at the price shown at checkout.

You can cancel at any time from the “Manage subscription” link on the Seller’s invite page or on your checkout confirmation page, which opens Stripe’s billing portal for your subscription, or by contacting the Seller. Cancelling stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period — your access continues through the period you have already paid for. Refunds are governed by the Seller’s policies and by Stripe.

Payments and fees

Payments between Members and Sellers are processed by Stripe on the Seller’s connected account. flatpass charges Sellers a flat platform subscription and does not take a percentage of Sellers’ sales. Stripe’s fees and terms apply to all payments.

Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to sell anything unlawful, to infringe others’ rights, to defraud Members, or in violation of Discord’s or Stripe’s terms. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or that creates risk for the Service or its users.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and cancel your platform subscription. We may suspend or terminate the Service to you for violation of these Terms or where required to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, flatpass is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for disputes between Sellers and Members. Because Sellers are the merchant of record, responsibility for sales, refunds, and chargebacks rests with the Seller.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
