Set a commission on your dashboard’s Referrals card, and members run /refer in your server for their own link. They earn that share of payments from the subscribers they bring, and you pay them yourself; flatpass keeps the ledger.
/refer. Anyone in your server can run it, or /affiliate, which is the same command. There is nothing to approve.Rates per plan, and how long commission runs. Press Change on the card to give a plan its own rate from 0 to 90, where 0 means that plan earns nothing, and to choose how long commission runs: Every payment, First payment only or the first 1 to 24 months. Each plan can take the default or its own.
Their own link. /refer answers privately with your invite page carrying their code, such as flatpass.io/invite/your-server?via=their-name. The code is their Discord username the first time they run it, and it stays the same if they rename. ?via= works on a plan’s own link too.
What they earn and what they’re owed. The same reply lists what each plan earns, what they’re owed, what they’ve been paid so far and how many paying referrals they have, with buttons to add payout details and copy the link. The person they refer gets no discount, and a promo code still works alongside the link.
Opening a referral link remembers the referrer in that browser for 30 days, and the last referral link opened wins. A checkout started in the same browser credits them, and each payment on that subscription earns, renewals included, for as long as your terms allow. Nobody earns on their own subscription.
It only counts in one browser. Opening the link in a phone’s browser and then subscribing from the plans panel in the Discord desktop app loses the referral, and so does opening it in an app’s built-in browser and then checking out in a different one.
Trials and 100%-off codes earn nothing while no money moves; commission starts with the first paid invoice. Visits through referral links show on your Traffic card as referral links. Traffic credits a subscriber to their first visit and commission to the last referral link, so the two counts can differ.
Refunds come off commission. A refund shrinks or cancels commission you haven’t paid yet. If you already paid it, the refunded share is taken off that referrer’s next payout, with a note under their name on the card. A lost dispute counts as a full refund.
flatpass never moves the money. You pay referrers yourself, then record it: each referrer’s row shows what they’re owed on its button, such as Mark $20.00 paid, and the dialog takes an optional note, such as a PayPal transaction id. It marks exactly the amounts you saw, so commission earned while you were paying stays owed. A payout marked by mistake can be undone from the referrer’s details.
Paying everyone at once. Export payouts downloads a PayPal Payouts file per currency, to upload under Payouts in your PayPal business account (it needs PayPal’s Payouts permission), a list of addresses and amounts per crypto network for a multi-send tool such as Disperse, and an overview of everyone. Referrers with no payout details are left out, and the dialog says how many. Once you’ve paid, press Mark exported batch paid.
Amounts stay in the currency each payment settled in and are never converted. A crypto list carries that amount, and you convert it into the token you send.
Check before you send. A referrer who changed their payout details in the last 72 hours is marked Changed recently, and before your first payout to someone’s current details, their card suggests sending a small amount first and asking them to confirm.
A new rate counts from the next payment; what’s already earned keeps its rate. A change to how long commission runs applies to new referrals only, and members already referred keep the terms they started with.
Turn off stops all new commission, including on subscribers already referred, and links stop counting. What’s owed stays on the card for you to pay. Turning it back on brings back your rates and the referrals made before.
To stop one member, choose Remove from the menu on their row. Their link stops counting and they earn nothing new, and what they’re already owed stays. A removed referrer can’t be reactivated yet.
Ask in the flatpass Discord, or email support@flatpass.io. Both are read by the people who build it.
