Nothing at all for 7 days, and your dashboard shows the date that grace period runs out. Only after that do new paid checkouts pause — nobody already subscribed is touched.
Members with a live paid subscription, summed across every server on your account. Not your Discord member count: a server with fifty thousand members and thirty subscribers is thirty paid members.
Free-tier members are never counted, however many there are, and neither are members you comped with a 100%-off code. A member on a discounted subscription is still paying, so they do count.
Approaching the cap. Your dashboard’s plan card starts counting the seats left before you reach it, and names the grace period ahead of time. Nothing else changes.
The first member over. The grace period starts. Signups carry on working exactly as before, and the dashboard shows the date and time they would stop.
7 days later. If you are still over the cap, new paid checkouts pause. That is the whole of it: nobody loses a role, no subscription is cancelled, every renewal bills as normal, and members can still manage or cancel their own subscriptions.
If you drop back under. It clears itself on the next page load — there is nothing to press. Flapping over and back doesn’t earn a second grace period straight away, though: a fresh clock only starts once the last crossing is a month old.
